The Town of Center Valley was incorporated in 2025 by a group of local residents to stop the aggressive annexation of Liberty Township by the Town of Plainfield.
The towns initial boundaries began at the south end of the Henke development and extended south to I-70. The east west boundary snaked around the properties that were within 1 mile of State Road 39.
Center Valley history began in the early to middle 1800's when W.R. Craven settled in the area as postmaster and blacksmith. The area was originally in Morgan county until residents petition to be annexed into Hendricks County.
